Grilling Ribeye Steaks

"How about Barbecue Ribeye!"

Are you looking for information on grilling ribeye steaks? How about Barbecue Ribeye Steaks?

Feel free to try our grilling method.

The ribeye also known as Scotch fillet, is a beef steak from the rib section. Ribeye is a tender, fatty piece of meat compared to other cuts.

The extra fat makes grilling ribeye flavoursome and perfect for dry heat cooking. Making it perfect for the grill!

When purchasing your ribeye, request it to be cut with the bone left in. The bone has an extra layer of fat, which means more moisture and flavour. (oh yes!)

On this page we've gone over how you need to prepare and grill your juicy ribeye steak!

"Preparation - Ribeye Steak"

The great thing bout barbecuing ribeye steak is that they are already cut and prepared at your local store.

They don't really need a marinade as they have a tasty natural flavour but I suppose if you wish to experiment go for it.

The only real preparation you need to do (if you froze it), is let it thaw overnight in the fridge. Cooking it Frozen will change he texture.

If you defrost the steak in the microwave, you may sacrifice a little flavour.

Season the steak with simple ingredients like garlic powder, salt and a bit of black pepper. (keep the natural taste!)

Rub the seasoning in and let the steak sit at room temperature for 20 minutes. (no longer!)

Great...we have prepared our ribeye let's get it on the barbecue!

• Lightly grease the grid with a little olive oil.

• Turn the heat up to a high setting.

• Place the ribeye on and grill for 2 minutes on eachside. (sear the outside, to lock in the juices!)

• Turn the grill down to a medium heat and grill eachside for 7 - 12 minutes, depending on how you want it! (rare, medium or well done?)

• Once done let the steaks settle for 5 minutes before serving them.

Serve with a tasty sauce of your choice. I love having my ribeye with a little soy sauce! (yummy!)

Tips: Use a spatula and not a fork when handling the ribeye steaks! (fork will pierce holes in the meat and the juices will run out!) Always sear the outer layer to lock in the juices!

Great! Now you know how to prepare the perfect ribeye steak, get some on the grill!!!
